Founded on an idea from Mr. Peter Bampton and first played in 1936, the Mortlock Shield is the longest running event of its type in Australia. Recognized as one of Eyre Peninsula’s most important ongoing sporting events, the Championship provides significant exposure and benefit to Port Lincoln. We mention annually the Mortlock Shield Championships attracts the second highest number of visitors to Port Lincoln (following the Tunarama Festival) and a wonderful opportunity to promote your business.

Traditionally we have sought the financial support of local businesses to become “Supporting Sponsors” of the event. Supporting Sponsors are very important in assisting alleviate the accommodation and travel costs incurred by visiting leagues and demonstrates the strong support the Port Lincoln business community has for the Championship.

As part of our ongoing review and constructive feedback provided by sponsors in 2016 the committee is pleased to offer greater flexibility with the supporting sponsorships. There are three levels of sponsorship available however businesses can purchase additional benefits as detailed below;

Level 1- two entrance passes to each day of the championship, acknowledgment of your support with a promotional Decal and certificate for display, identifying you and your business as a valued supporting sponsor of the Championship. Additionally, your business will be acknowledged in the commemorative budget and in a promotional advertisement in the Port Lincoln Times leading up to the event.  Package Cost: $125 (excluding GST)

Level 2- provides all the above, plus an additional individual advertisement (approx. 45mm x 50mm) in the commemorative budget, a complementary budget. Package Cost: $250 (excluding GST)

Level 3- includes all the benefits from levels 1 and 2 (includes larger individual advertisement (approx.130mm X 30mm)) and 2 additional entrance passes (4 in total) and budgets for each day. Package Cost: $500 (excluding GST)

Sponsorship Packages

The Mortlock Shield committee also has Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorship packages available offering extended benefits including attendance to the Saturday night Life Members and Officials dinner held during the championship, additional tickets to the championships and increased media and promotional opportunities. Please contact me directly for further information regarding these packages.

*Sponsorships that provide equivalent in-kind support will also be considered upon application.

Following confirmation of your sponsorship an invoice will be issued for payment. To ensure sufficient time to meet printing deadlines, sponsorship payment is required by 27^th May. I encourage your early commitment to ensure your business gains maximum benefit from your sponsorship leading up to the Championship.
